Skylor’s Animal Rescue rely on our supporters and general donations to cover the substantial costs of caring for, rehabilitating, and rehoming the beautiful dogs which come into our care. Another way of helping us is through legacy gifts.

When dogs come into our care, it represents the start of their second chance at life, after what is often a traumatic start. As well as the safety of kennels, dogs undergo assessment, are given medical care, dental care, and any behavioural support that is required, as well as neutering and micro-chipping. They are exercised and shown love and affection – possibly for the first time in their lives.

Making or amending your Will

By remembering Skylor’s Animal Rescue in your Will means that you know you’ll be helping to give dogs the safe and happy future they so deserve.

We have set out some suggested wording for different types of legacy, but we recommend that you always take professional advice when drawing up or amending your Will. Recommended Wording:

1. Residuary gift to Skylor’s Animal Rescue under a Will (if you wish to leave your estate or a share/percentage of your estate to Skylor’s Animal Rescue) “Subject to the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses I GIVE the whole/ [or insert percentage %] of my estate not otherwise disposed of by this my will to Skylor’s Animal Rescue (registered charity number: 1179940) of Silverwell, Dobshill, Flintshire. CH5 3LZ absolutely and I DECLARE that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the said Skylor’s Animal Rescue for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.”

2. Pecuniary/cash Legacy to Skylor’s Animal Rescue (if you wish to leave a fixed sum) “I GIVE the sum of [insert amount] [£ ] to Skylor’s Animal Rescue (registered charity number: 1179940) of Silverwell, Dobshill, Flintshire. CH5 3LZ and I DECLARE that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the said Skylor’s Animal Rescue for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.”

3. Specific Legacy to Skylor’s Animal Rescue (if you wish to leave a specific item) “I GIVE my [insert description of gift] to Skylor’s Animal Rescue (registered charity number: 1179940) of Silverwell, Dobshill, Flintshire. CH5 3LZ and I DECLARE that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the said Skylor’s Animal Rescue for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.”
